I have to go to a Speech competition at Ball State in less than 3 hours. I'm pretty confident with my prose so far. As far as my informative, I'm a bit scared. I spent ridiculous amounts of time practicing and rehearsing. I just don't think I know my speech as well as I should. My topic for the speech is "The Advancement of Technology in Toys." Believe me, i love the topic. I just don't understand why I am unable to memorize my speech completely.

So, if there are any Speech and Debate people out there, I would appreciate some memorization techniques. It may be too late for this weekend, but next weekend, I should have it down.

Oh, and my car..... heh, well, tight turns + wet pavement = me going off the road and crashing into a guard rail. :-\

Tomorrow I graduate High School. I can't believe it. 12 years have finally past and now I'm sitting exactly one day away from walking across the stage and getting my diploma. I've met so many people over the years, and I want to thank you all for being around and putting up with me. hehe.

I'm moving in 5 days at the latest.

Here I come Lebanon, IN.

I come back to Hammond for my party, so I expect you all to be there!

It's at my church. Woodmar United Methodist Church, off of Northcote Avenue. It's on June 18th at 2:00 p.m. I don't know when it ends. hehe

The year 2005 is almost behind us, and I must say, it was probably the best one yet. For starters, I met some very awesome people throughout the year (Becca, Courtney, Laura, Nicole, Adam, and Lindsey) and I reconnected with people I haven't talked to in ages (Ellen, Crystal, Jennifer, and Carrie.) I had the most fun I've ever had this summer, with going to Lead America, Senior High Institute, working the VBS, and finally getting that Work camp underway. Not to mention the concerts I went to this year, such as the Final Fantasy concert with Kevin, 3 Doors Down with Roye, and System of a Down with Jennifer. I must say those were some of the best shows I've been to.

Besides all of that, I have had some personal achievements as well. For one, I was confirmed into the United Methodist church and made a member at Woodmar UMC. I have also delivered two sermons to my congregation, and received unanimous positive feedback from both of them.

I have also been accepted into the University of Indianapolis, in which I hope to pursue an Engineering degree, or completely change tracks and pursue ministry. It's up for grabs at the moment, and I still do have some time before I have to make a final decision. I do love both fields, however, and I don't think I'd go wrong in either one.

I just hope that 2006 can bring me the joy that 2005 did, because, to me, it was a great year.

On a side note, to all the seniors near and far, lets make the best of these last months in school. Live it up and enjoy yourselves.

Yeah, so, I took the ASVAB on Thursday, and I scored a 76, which I hear is pretty damn good.

I'm still not 100% sure if I want to join the Army, or any branch of the military at that, but it all looks very appealing.

Opinions please?

Today, I went to visit University of Indianapolis. I really like the campus, and everything about the college. I especially like the whole dual degree program with IUPUI, in which I could pursue a Bachelor's degree in Physics at University of Indianapolis and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering at Purdue University Indianapolis. I am also interested in the Youth Ministry program they have at U of Indy. However, both of those career goals seem to interfere with each other, and it almost seems impossible to pursue both of them. But I sure wish I could. It would be really awesome.

Well, I have to get ready for Church, and possibly Dark in the Park, but I don't think I will do that. I'm that lazy, hehe.

So, I'll write more later.

System of A Down was fucking sweet. You guys have no idea. The show was so energetic and uplifting, I haven't gone to sleep yet. I took my best bud Jennifer, which was completely unexpected, because I thought she was going to turn me down like everyone else. I saw Eric and Andrew there, and Jennifer saw her friend Katie, so Jennifer met my friends, and I met hers. It was all good.

Turns out the concert order was Hella, The Mars Volta, and System of a Down.

The only real thing I liked about Hella was the guitarist. Dude, that guys fucking insane. All their songs were like fucking guitar solos with bass and vocals. They were pretty decent, however there was this one guy that kept shouting "YOU GUYS FUCKING SUCK!!! GET OFF THE FUCKING STAGE!!!" It was really rude.

My god, The Mars Volta is as huge as Slipknot. So many other instruments. It was eargasmic, haha. Yeah, both me and Jennifer agreed that the saxophone was cool. The songs are very long though, and I eventually got bored with them. But I did like them, so I need to perhaps get some of their music.

System of A Down is my new favorite live band. It was between Sevendust and Alter Bridge, but now its without a doubt System. I don't remember the exact set list, but they almost played everything, including a new song off their upcoming album due November called "Hypnotize." Pretty fucking sweet.

I do remember the following songs, I might get them all, who knows. Prison Song, Needles, Deer Dance, Chop Suey, Toxicity, Sugar, B.Y.O.B, Cigaro(lol), Violent Pornography, Aerials, Question!, Revenga, Lost in Hollywood, Soldier Side, Science, Forest, ATWA, Bounce, Psycho. I'm positive I forgot some, but thats basically all they played.

Yeah, so I spent all day filling out college apps.

My college choices so far are:

MIT

Purdue West Lafayette

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Illinois Institute of Technology

Purdue Calumet

IUPUI

University of Indianapolis

University of Evansville

Yeah, I plan on applying to all those colleges. So far, I've only gotten MIT's started, and I printed out Purdue's. So yeah, that's my day.

Tomorrow is Six Flags :-)

Yesterday, I went to see The Devil's Rejects with Alexis, which I'm surprised even happened because of how random her mom decides to let her go out. I liked the movie for what it was; being a Rob Zombie film after all. He is very creative, have to give him that. Heh, Alexis ended up getting bored near the end of the movie. Anyway, after the film, we had a little bit of time to kill, so I was trying to find someplace to eat. We stopped at Wendy's. When we got there, we both didn't feel like leaving. Then I noticed the weird shaped parking spaces, and I was paranoid that I did a craptastic parking job, which I didn't. We eventually left to go driving some more. We just drove until we hit Dairy Belle, and I ended up buying some ice cream. Hehe, Alexis experienced a good dose of Deja vu in the drive thru.... because she pointed out many of the things that I said the last time we went there. After we got ice cream, we went looking for a park, but couldn't find one, so I started to take her home. She saw like 2 extra cars in front, and didn't really want to leave. So, we just parked near Gavit (heh) and ate the rest of our ice cream and had a loooooong conversation. haha. Yeah, so at about 9:45 I dropped her off, and I went home. It was almost our first official date, since we didn't really do anything together when we first went out. So, yeah, I'm pretty happy with the outcome of the night.

Yeah, so today I had to go and fix my schedule. Turns out that they aren't offering French higher than level 3, which sucks, because I really wanted to get better in my French speaking/writing skills. The rest of my schedule for the first term is alright. I'll post it below

AP Government
Physics
Honors Pre-calculus
Computer Applications
AP English Literature and Composition

I also have 3 total open spots. One in the second term, and two in the third. I'm thinking about taking a music course as an independent study class.

And to put more on my workload, I am joining the Robotics team again, as well as taking a Political Science class at Purdue Calumet, and I'll still be heavily involved in Church. Hope my Senior year turns out alright

Oh yeah, I'm getting my Senior picture taken at 10:45 tomorrow.

Peace

Rest in Peace Terri Schiavo.

I have yet to form thought on how I feel about this.

But I do believe that her suffering was unneccessary.

My sermon went very well. I didn't choke up at all while giving it. It ran for like 15 minutes, which is also very good. After doing this, it got me to thinking. If I put as much effort into all my other writings like I did this sermon, I should have very good essays.

I'd also like to thank Mary for coming today.

Meant a lot.

I get the privilege of creating this Sunday's sermon for my church. I also get to present it. This is going to be tough. (Anyone that feels like coming to watch, come to either the 9:00 or 10:45 service at Woodmar United Methodist Church off of Northcote Avenue.)

Term Papers start also. I'm determined to do a decent job and receive as much guidance from Mr. Shepard as he will can give. I would like to end the year with at least one good piece of writing. Reason behind that is just because I need to prove to Mr. Shepard that I can "write my way out of a paper bag."

Adieu.
